About

Robert is an entrepreneurial educator focused on equity. After spending 10 years as a college instructor, high school teacher, and school administrator, Robert wanted to expand his impact on a national scale. In 2018, he founded He is Me Institute — a nonprofit that collaborates with education entities to recruit, retain, and retire Black male teachers.

A year later, he started Restore Our Communities, LLC — a company that provides consulting, coaching, workshop facilitation, and speaking engagements with the goal of improving the quality of schools, social enterprises, and their leaders. Although Robert has proven his own ability to make change, he is more drawn to supporting others who improve the lives of the next generation.

Robert’s leadership and work has been recognized by NewSchools Venture Fund, 4.0 Schools, and his alma mater, Miami University (OH), and he has supported organizations such as GreatSchools.org, Boston Public Schools, and My Brothers’ Keeper Chicago. Robert is also involved in his community by serving on boards, policy advocacy coalitions, and advisory committees for local and national institutions and advocacy organizations.
